2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro New Features

For the past 35 years, the Toyota 4Runner has built a name for itself as a crossover SUV, bringing terrain-crawling capability matched by few competitors. Despite its classic body-on-frame construction, this old favorite continues to push the limits on what an SUV can be with updates that bring more capability to the 4Runner’s TRD Pro trim level than ever before.

What’s New in the 2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro?

Perhaps the most crucial change in the 2019 4Runner TRD Pro is the suspension package. This updated trim level brings with it an all-new suspension package that includes 2.5-inch Fox Internal Bypass Shocks with rear remote reservoirs and TRD-tuned front springs that help to conquer even the most unforgiving terrain. Operators of this model can expect it to crank out up to 270 horsepower @ 5600 rpm and 278 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4400 rpm.

This trim’s improved 0.25-inch-thick aluminum skid plate delivers some added protection to the 4Runner’s underside. The plate proudly displays the trim emblem with “TRD” plastered on the front in bold red lettering. Moving to the top of the vehicle, the TRD Pro now gains a roof rack for more flexible gear storage and a power moonroof that makes that wind-in-your-hair feeling just a button click away.

The TRD Pro’s now-standard JBL Premium Audio system features 15 JBL® GreenEdge™ speakers in nine locations, including a subwoofer and an amplifier for a top-notch listening experience.
